The Note That Struck from Our First Song
Every now and then, a cow comes along who feels like more than just part of the herd.
Meet NOOB Melody 242M—the only registered calf we ever got from Jukebox, our very first calf born on the ranch.

Jukebox was special from the start: a gentle giant with heavy structure, a well-grounded pedigree, and the calm temperament that instantly made him a leading herd sire prospect. He was our foundation, the bull that turned our dreams into a breeding program.
Melody is the note that struck.
Born on March 24, 2024, she’s the daughter of 947G (Grayson)—our first-ever purchased heifer and the matriarch of one of our strongest cow families. Her half-sister, Lil’ Lou, already showed some serious mama chops this year, and Melody seems to be following her lead.

A 57% Lim-Flex heifer, double black and double polled, Melody has the same quiet confidence that her mama had when we first got her—a hint of skepticism toward strangers, with a built-in maternal instinct.
Next fall, Melody will calve for the first time. Another first in a line of firsts.
It’s because of Jukebox that we started our musical naming pattern: Melody, Mandolin, Maestro, Meatloaf, Naughty by Nature, No Doubt, Nena, Nirvana—and counting.
Melody is more than just a name. She’s a symbol of our journey—our evolution from “city folks just trying to make this work” to a ranch where legacy, heart, and humor grow together.
