Welcome to the Ranch – MINO Knock ‘Em Dead!
It’s that time of year again – time to prepare for next fall’s calving season. For past seasons we have leaned on artificial insemination (AI) to introduce new genetics to the herd. This is still one of our essential tools, but we couldn’t make the calving season a success without also employing a clean-up bull.
For the spring breeding season, 603J – Jukebox has faithfully batted cleanup. But for fall breeding his is disqualified, due to his dam being in the mix. To solve this problem, we have found a new designated hitter – MINO 051K – Knock ‘Em Dead.
Purchased from Minor Limousin of Strafford, MO, this herd sire prospect comes with all the bells and whistles. His dam, RATLIFF Google, was the Grand and Division V champion at the 2021 Cattlemen’s Congress. His sire is FWLY LHC Capital ET, who is out of MAGS Cable, and has been used in reputable limousin programs across the country.

The newest member of the LAAN Limousin herd will play a very important role breeding any cow or heifer that fails to conceive or maintain pregnancy following AI. Knock ‘Em Dead has an important job, as clean-up bulls typically are expected to breed 40 to 50 percent of a herd in a limited time.
This new bull brings strong EPDs and is expected to enhance the genetics of our future calf crop.
