Another Addition to the Ranch
The fifth calf born on LAAN Limousin Ranch is a little red bull calf. His dam is Hermione, a bottle calf raised and named by our youngest daughter – who was going through a Harry Potter phase. She has since outgrown Harry Potter, but to keep with the theme, she has decided to name the newest addition to the ranch Lucius.

Born on April 4, 2023, Lucius will join our commercial cattle herd.
His sire is B-Bar Serratelli, a stout homozygous polled purebred son of Paynes Cracker out of a proven HUNT Credential daughter. Though his dam is a daughter of the famed Wulfs Ozark, she was never registered with the North American Limousin Foundation (NALF), which means he also cannot be registered.

Lucius comes from a long line of impressive genetics. We will watch how this guy grows. Despite not joining the ranks of his registered relatives, he could make a fantastic herd sire to any commercial herd with sons and daughters that should grow rapidly and possess impressive carcass figures.
Stay tuned for highlights on more calves coming to the LAAN Limousin fields this fall. We are especially excited for the outcome of the paring between 603G and Humdinger!
