Exciting News From the Ranch

This has been a big week for the ranch. After quick professional examinations, we have learned:
- 095H – Hermione & 947G – Greyson are pregnant!
- 603J – Jukebox passed his breeding soundness examination with flying colors!
What this means: Babies! It was a major disappointment to discover that neither cow was pregnant nor on track to keep with our fall 2022 breeding schedule. Instead of giving up, or waiting for the next fall breeding, we pivoted them to a spring breeding schedule and are ready to add two new calves to the herd in the spring.
Not sure if we’re supposed to dance 🕺 or perform some kind of 🪄voodoo magic, but we need something to break our bull streak.
Jukebox passing his BSE means he’s grown and ready to add to the herd in his own way. He has come a long way from the little squirt born in the back trees in the 30-acre pasture behind our house. To say we’re excited for what comes next would be an understatement!

As the J Bar J group prepares for fall breeding, Jukebox has moved temporarily to another pasture and to his first breeding assignment. His momma, 603G, will join the fall breeders as she finishes raising 603K – Keeper, who we hope to raise just as successfully as Jukebox!
Come spring, we’ll also be able to add 1108 – Jupiter to the breeding program, continuing our growth.
If haven’t already, meet the LAAN herd and keep following to meet the new faces on their way!
