I’ve said, “Please do not bring toads into my home,” to three different people, including a grown person!!
A famous comedian once asked his audience if they found themselves saying things to their children that they never thought they’d have to say. Well, since moving to the country, I have had to repeat the words, “Please don’t bring toads into my home.”

Now, if you’re a regular Farm Journal reader, you’re probably thinking, “Wait. You’ve raised chickens in your kitchen, had cats in your vent, what’s adding a toad to the mix?”
I told my family it is because my great Aunt Ann told me that frogs will give you warts when you hold them. But, faithful reader, I really don’t want them in my home because frogs and toads freak me out! They are unpredictable. They will wait until you least expect it and jump right at you. I don’t need dodgy characters like frogs and toads in my life…
I think we all have that one animal that we cannot trust. What’s yours?
